Maria tells the story of a triple quest; mine, my mother’s, and a small village on the Baie des Chaleurs in Gaspésie. The return of a traveler to his roots, an elderly woman’s end-of-life passage, and the metamorphosis of a small village all combined into one passage of time.

The ever daunting question of life and death. Where do we end up and how do we look back on our lives, our relationships and the quest of love within a family circle ? The question of the unknown remains at the forefront in this curiosity of film and life. What happens to my mom when she leaves ? What happens to the film when it is transformed into something else ?
